Image Tools

Stick Studio includes fast image-editing tools so you can clean up assets without leaving the browser-based editor.

Crop and resize quickly

Use crop and resize to tighten composition before you start stacking more edits.

  • Crop early so later text or overlay placement stays consistent.
  • Match the crop to the final canvas use case instead of editing blind.
  • Recheck quality after large size changes.

Remove backgrounds and clean up images

Background removal works best when the source image is already reasonably clean.

  • Use the highest-quality version of the source asset when possible.
  • Crop tighter around the subject before running removal on cluttered scenes.
  • Zoom in to review edges before placing the image over a new background.
  • Retry with a cleaner source if the subject edges look soft or noisy.

Adjust and enhance

Simple adjustments usually outperform aggressive edits.

  • Start with basic cleanup before piling on filters.
  • Use auto-enhance as a first pass, then fine-tune manually if needed.
  • Compare the edited result against the original at the final export size.

Generate or replace backgrounds with AI

AI tools move faster when the direction is simple and controlled.

  • Start with a clear subject and a specific visual goal.
  • Make one meaningful change at a time instead of stacking too many prompt ideas.
  • Review the output in the full canvas, not just in isolation.

Export checks

Before final delivery:

  • Confirm the export size matches the destination.
  • Use transparent-background options only when the export format supports them.
  • Run one quick test export before a client or team handoff.

When results still look wrong

If the image tool result still feels off:

  • Try a cleaner or larger source image.
  • Simplify the crop before running the tool again.
  • Check Troubleshooting before contacting support.
